Beautiful Neoclassical painting, oil on canvas, framed in a carved and gilded wooden frame of the same period. The painting features a notable use of chiaroscuro and shadows, depicting a bacchanal, with a swooning young man at its center, immersed in the orgy of the feast. The young man wears robes and a necklace with blue stones, while holding a cup and a broken amphora from which wine is pouring. Around him, several figures are visible, only their lower limbs showing, including robes and a slipper decorated with stars; lastly, a hand is also present. The setting shows, on the wall, a dance scene reminiscent of Etruscan wall paintings, a clear sign of the artist's classical inspiration. Finally, at the bottom right of the painting, the author's signature is visible. It is attributed to a painter from the Italian area of the Neoclassical period, around the second half of the 18th century.
