PAINTING LANDSCAPE WITH FIGURES LATE 18TH CENTURY
Period: Second half of the 18th century
Price:
€ 3.000
Refined oil painting on canvas, framed by a gilded and ebonized carved wooden frame. The painting depicts a hilly landscape with a wood, within which architectures and figures can be glimpsed. In the center is a mill, surrounded by water, with trees and other figures arranged around it. In the foreground appear two characters, a man and a woman, intent on a stroll, dressed in period clothing of refined craftsmanship, and beside them two dogs. Behind them, on the right, a group of young people engaged in conversation; on the left, further in the distance, two other figures, a man and a woman, are visible, also dressed with elegant austerity. In the work, the artist masters the technique of chiaroscuro and a realistic style of painting. It is a valuable painting, capable of furnishing any environment with taste and refinement. French manufacture of the late 18th century.
